TEXAS CITIES HEAD-TO-HEAD

Dallas vs Fort Worth.Which has cheaper electricity?

Same TDU, same rates — the metroplex is one market. We priced every plan in both cities against your real kWh — not the advertised teaser rate.

Voltcheckr LLC is a registered Texas electricity broker (PUCT Broker Registration BR260102), not a retail electric provider, and has no affiliated provider. We are paid a referral commission by the supplier you choose — never by you. You can stop using Voltcheckr at any time at no cost. By continuing you acknowledge our broker disclosures.

THE HONEST TAKE

Which city wins?

This is the most misleading "vs" query in Texas electricity shopping. The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is a single deregulated market on Oncor — retailers don't price differently for Dallas vs Fort Worth, and the TDU delivery charges are identical. Historical usage averages are also nearly identical (both around 1,180-1,200 kWh/month for a typical single-family home). If you're shopping between Dallas and Fort Worth for reasons other than electricity (commute, schools, cost of living), the electricity piece is a wash. Just upload your bill to Voltcheckr and it'll find the cheapest plan for your specific ZIP — same catalog regardless of which metroplex side you live on.

Stop guessing. See the cheapest plan for YOUR usage.

Upload your bill and we'll rank every plan available at your specific address — regardless of which metro you live in or which average you've been quoted.
