These terms apply when you use voltcheckr.com. By using the site you agree to them.

What we are

Voltcheckr LLC (PUCT Broker Registration BR260102) operates voltcheckr.com and is an independent energy broker. For businesses, we gather quotes from suppliers and help you compare them. For homes in Texas, we compare electricity plans against your usage and help you sign up for the plan you choose. We do not supply electricity or natural gas, and we are not a utility.

Using the site

You may use the site to compare plans and ask for quotes for a home or a business you are authorized to act for. You may not scrape, resell or automate the site, use it to defraud anyone, or upload a bill for an account you are not authorized to act for.

Rates and savings

Our figures are based on your bill or the usage you enter, and on the rates suppliers quote when we ask for them. Rates can change before you sign up, and your bills will depend on the electricity or gas you actually use. We cannot guarantee that a rate will still be available when you enroll, or that you will save a particular amount.

Before you switch, read the plan's contract terms and, for a home electricity plan, its Electricity Facts Label (EFL). Your contract is between you and the supplier you choose; Voltcheckr is not a party to it.

Early termination fees

If your current plan has an early termination fee, switching may trigger it. We point out that risk where we can, but please check the fee on your current bill or contract, or with your current supplier, before you switch.

Affiliate commissions

The supplier you choose pays Voltcheckr a referral commission. On a business account that commission is included in the rate the supplier quotes, with no separate fee. It never affects the ranking of plans: rankings are based purely on the supplier rate at your usage. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Your information

How we collect, use, share and keep your information, including the statistics we may publish, is described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information.

Complaints

You can send us a complaint at support@voltcheckr.com or through our complaint form, and you can also contact the Public Utility Commission of Texas. We never require you to use arbitration or mediation.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
