Common questions
How does Voltcheckr make money?
We earn a flat referral fee from our enrollment partner when you complete a sign-up through Voltcheckr. It never affects our rankings. We rank plans by their all-in cost at your kWh usage and link each plan's EFL, where the official all-in price is published.
Do I have to upload my bill?
No. You can also shop by ZIP code to browse available plans without uploading anything.
Fixed or variable rate: which fits my home?
A fixed rate locks your price per kWh for the whole contract. A variable rate moves with the market each month, so it can rise as well as fall.
What should I look for on my bill?
Your kWh used, your average rate (the bill divided by kWh), and your contract end date, the day you can leave without a fee.
Does a new plan change my service?
No. Your utility still runs the lines, fixes outages, and reads your meter. Only your energy supplier changes.
Is my data safe?
Your bill is used only to prepare your quote, and the file is deleted from our storage within 60 seconds of analysis. We never sell your data. You can request deletion at any time, just email us.
Do I have to switch plans?
No obligation at all. We show you how plans compare at your usage, and you decide what to do with that information.
